Description
The Fireray 50/160RU consists of a transmitter and optical receiver in a single device.
The detector is mounted on the wall of the building, at a distance of at least 50 cm and no more than 10% of the height under the ceiling to comply with the requirements of UL 268 / NFPA 72.
The transmitter emits an invisible infrared beam which is reflected by a prism mirror mounted on the facing wall, opposite the transmitter, so that the beam can reach the other side without interference. The strength of the reflected beam is analyzed by the receiver. When smoke penetrates the beam’s space, a warning will be sent to the fire detection control panel.
The detector can detect smoke at up to 9.1 meters on either side of the beam.
The detector reaches a detection range of 50 meters with the placement of one prism. A detection range of 100 meters requires four prisms.
The beam detector provides a fire protection solution for elongated spaces, in cases where there is a desire to avoid installation of numerous photoelectric detectors or when the ceiling height exceeds 10 meters, in which case, according to the standard, photoelectric detectors may not be installed due to their lack of effectiveness at that height.
When smoke penetrates the beam’s space, a warning will be sent to the fire detection control panel.
Fast and easy installation
